Sometimes There is Light Around Us

Sometimes strong emotions and thoughts run through us- young or old- ready to cause havoc. In the face of these tumultuous tides, if we slowly learn to hold on to the anchor of stillness within, the storm eventually subsides and we find the vastness and freedom that lies within. The poem tries to elucidate this in a simple way.
Sometimes there is light around me,
But, I feel a sadness within.
Sometime there is light around me,
But my thoughts grow heavy and dim.
Sometimes, there is light around me,
But, fears and worries run wild inside.
Sometimes, there is light around me,
But, not a speck do I find.
That is when I remember..
I am the Ocean and the Skies,
I am a beautiful Moon on a dark night,
I am the Lake and the jewelled Waves,
I am the Finite and Infinite in play.
That is when I remember..
I am the Earth vast and free,
In my stillness, I find the light within.
