It was beautiful land, a pristine land. The Land of the Golden Sun. Nature was alive here. The trees laughed. The flowers sang. The mountains in the distance rose in great majesty and silence like towers of protection. The streams meandered through fields joyfully and effortlessly. And one with nature were the people of this land. They rejoiced, they laughed, they created and they danced. They were the Children of the Sun and all they knew in their beings was joy, love and silence. This land of innocence was protected by the Sun that cast a shield of gold around it. However, one fateful day, a tear appeared in this shield, and something dark, dense and shrill found its way into this land, drastically altering its course and destiny.

This story reminds both children and adults of what life on Earth used to be like – we were the Children of the Sun. We came from the sun, and to it we returned. It helps us awaken to a truth that we have been made to forget and yet gives us hope that we are again on the way to becoming who we once were.

A SMALL NOTE
I was inspired to write this story based on images that I saw in a dream. I saw tiny red-black creatures stream into earth from outer space. I then saw rows and rows of electrical batteries being manufactured which resembled these creatures. The dream ended with an image of large, beautiful clear quartz crystals surrounded by the lovely green of nature. When I woke up, I realised that we have been turned into devices that need batteries/external sources of energy to function and survive. And yet, we are slowly starting to remember that who we are is like a crystal that can self-generate energy!
